A story that begins in ’79, starting as a mechanical workshop to specialize over time in the production of high quality knitting machine cylinders.
By being consistently committed to innovation and the use of cutting edge technologies, we have become a company able to support our customers at national and international level.
1979
The company Barra slr is born as a precision mechanical workshop with the goal to satisfy incoming requests from surrounding realities.
1984
The company specializes in the production of circular hosiery machine cylinders and begins collaborating with the leading companies in the industry.
1990
Thanks to the introduction of numerical control, the market broadens and Barra expands abroad and establishes collaborations with foreign companies that build socks knitting machines.
2000
The product reaches new markets all over the world. The cylinder is not only for the producers, but also for the final users (hosiery).
2010
The company becomes Gerri srl, thanks to the new Gerri partners joining and bringing in new technologies and new applications. The knitting cylinder and the cylinder with inserts to knit women’s socks are introduced.
2011
The company participates for the first time in a world trade fair, introducing itself as a supplier of knitting and hosiery cylinders.
2019
Expanding of the production site by purchasing two adjacent buildings.
2020
New machinery to consolidate the production of knitting cylinders is introduced. In the same year, Gerri srl embraces the green ethic by installing a photovoltaic system that is able to meet the energy needs of the business.
2021
With increasing demand and wanting to offer a complete service, the company decides to open a new EDM department.
2022
There is an increasing want to grow and be innovative and thanks to the acquired competencies we decided to purchase a Waterjet machine that will allow us to further expand our work field.
